It’s the time of the year where you’re probably thinking more about your pumpkin spiced latte than your skincare routine. You’re already in a groove with your daily routine and may not think about the things you’ll want to change when it comes to fall skincare. We’ve outlined a few things to keep in mind and to consider when you’re going about your fall skin care routines.

First, let’s talk about what not to change. Don’t change or think you don’t need that sunscreen anymore. Sunscreen should be a part of your daily routine no matter what time of the year it is. Just because it’s not summer doesn’t mean the sun isn’t harmful to your skin. Don’t ever skip the sunscreen.

What you can do:

  1. Change your lotion to a cream. Fall is known to be the season of dry skin, creams provide a much stronger barrier to keep in hydration. Best time to apply is right after you shower and pat dry your skin. This will seal in moisture and prevent that dry, cracked or flaky skin.

  2. Keep your hands moisturized throughout the day. Have some hand cream readily available all day. In your bag, on your desk or in a drawer. This will be your best friend all fall and winter in helping you not have those unsightly dry or cracked hands. Everyone wants soft hands all year long.

  3. Protect your lips. Adding a lip balm will help protect your lips from the elements. Beware of those balms that are attractive this time of year that is tasty, like cinnamon flavor etc. These types of balms can actually cause acne or rashes around the lips. They are very appealing but you can also have a sensitivity to them. Be careful.

  4. Facials. No matter what time of year it is a facial is a wonderful opportunity to keep your skin looking young and refreshed. This is a great way to start off with a clean slate for fall. Begin your new routine with a facial and start off on the right foot with clear, firm and smooth skin.

  5. Rejuvenate with a mask. Night time is the time your skin rejuvenates. Apply a mask at bedtime will have you looking younger by morning. You'll wake up refreshed and it's a great way to assist your skin the transition to cooler weather.

Adding these skincare routines to your regiment will have your skin prepared for the cooler weather.
